Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A three-year post-matric qualification (NQF level 6) in Financial Management, Public Administration, or Social Sciences.
- Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience. Experience in teacher training, teacher support programs, and financial reporting is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the internet. Ability to create databases and professional presentations.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with government legislation, including the PFMA, BAS, National Treasury Regulations, and Batho Pele Principles.
- General: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. A valid driver’s license (Code 8) and a willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will handle administrative and financial tasks for the Directorate, including:
- Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and departmental procedures.
- Managing financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Coordinating budget processes (MTDF) and monitoring expenditure to prevent overspending.
- Organizing logistics for meetings, workshops, and events like the National Teacher Awards (NTA).
- Maintaining electronic and manual record-keeping systems and updating the assets register.
- Arranging travel and accommodation for staff.
- Assisting with event management, including invitations, attendance registers, and processing invoices.
- Providing general administrative support, such as tracking documents and handling correspondence.
