Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: A Grade 10 Certificate (NQF Level 2) or ABET Level 1 as recognized by Umalusi or SAQA.
- Licensing: A valid Code 8 driver’s license is mandatory.
- Knowledge: Good geographical knowledge of the local city and surrounding areas.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with the National Road Traffic Act and standard Transport Policies.
- Experience: Relevant experience in professional driving or logistics is required.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, checking fuel, oil, water levels, and identifying any potential damages.
- Deliveries: Safely collect, deliver, and dispatch official correspondence and parcels.
- Transportation: Transport department officials to and from various destinations for official business.
- General Support: Assist with general transport duties and administrative tasks as required by the department.
