Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognized NQF level 7 qualification in Law (LLB, BPROC, or BJURIS).
- At least 5 years of experience in middle or senior management within a relevant legal field.
- Knowledge of Public Service Legislation.
- Admission as an advocate or attorney will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of Legal Services will be responsible for the following:
- Legislation: Managing and facilitating the drafting and review of legal documents and legislation.
- Litigation and Contracts: Overseeing contract management and providing litigation services.
- Legal Advice: Offering professional legal advice and formal opinions to the department.
- Management: Reporting on and managing the directorate’s budget, human resources, and overall performance in line with government regulations.
