About the Organization
The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) is an independent oversight body. Our mission is to oversee the operations of the Department of Correctional Services and ensure the rights of all incarcerated persons are protected. JICS reports to the Minister of Correctional Services and the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee.
Requirements
- A recognized NQF Level 7 qualification in Public Management or Public Administration.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at a Middle or Senior Management level.
- A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel frequently.
- A Nyukela Certificate (this is the mandatory entry certificate for Senior Management Services).
Required Knowledge
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of:
- Legislation regarding the correctional environment and public service.
- Government legislation and public service prescripts.
- Research, development, and data analysis methods.
