Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- A Grade 12 certificate and a 4-year degree (NQF 8) in Agricultural Science, Agro-processing, or Food Science.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years at an Assistant Director level.
- A valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Strategy Management: Support the implementation of the Gauteng Agroprocessing Strategy to help grow the market for processed crop products.
- Project Coordination: Help new and existing businesses with planning, technology, and safe operations. This includes work within the horticulture, grain milling, and industrial crop value chains.
- Trend Analysis: Research international trends and share findings with local industries. You will also help maintain databases regarding export requirements and safety standards.
- Standards and Policy: Work with stakeholders to develop and review product standards, legislation, and operating procedures.
- Team Leadership: Monitor staff performance and manage human resource development to ensure the department meets its strategic goals.
