Permanent Part-Time Sales Assistant – Poetry (Hyde Park)

Cape Union Mart International has been a staple of South African retail since 1933, providing high-quality gear and apparel for adventurers and lifestyle enthusiasts alike. We are currently seeking a professional and energetic Sales Assistant to join our Poetry team at the Hyde Park branch in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and helping us maintain a premium shopping experience. Your duties will include:

  • Exceeding customer expectations through professional selling techniques.
  • Consistently meeting and driving individual and store sales targets.
  • Monitoring stock loss controls and ensuring inventory security.
  • Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and store housekeeping.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase store turnover.
  • Contributing to an inspiring and welcoming store environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • At least 6 months of experience in a retail environment.
  • A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A clear criminal record.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers.
  • Knowledge of current clothing trends and the Poetry brand lifestyle.
