Minimum Educational Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have an appropriate three-year Diploma or Degree in Finance or a closely related field.
Experience Required
Candidates should possess professional experience in the following areas:
- Working within a hospital fees or finance environment.
- Compiling Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and applying General Recognised Accounting Practices (GRAP).
- Managing debt write-offs and using the HIS Accounts Receivable System.
- Using Microsoft Word and Excel for financial tasks and reporting.
- Writing formal submissions and reports.
- Leading and supervising a team within a financial setting.
Key Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Thorough knowledge of Hospital Fees policies, procedures, and UPFS tariff structures.
- Expertise in debt write-off procedures and delegations.
- Experience in claims administration and submitting claims to third-party funders.
- Understanding of the Western Cape Health Facility Board and Committees Act.
- Strong analytical thinking, mathematical skills, and accounting literacy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
Additional Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB).
- A willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- The ability to travel and stay overnight for work assignments when required.
