The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to fill the role of Operational Manager for our Theatre and CSSD specialty units. We provide essential public healthcare services across the Western Cape province.

Required Qualifications
- A Basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
- A post-basic nursing qualification (minimum 1-year duration) in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre Nursing, accredited by SANC.
- Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant nursing experience after registering as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
- At least 5 years of this experience must be specifically in Operating Theatre Nursing, earned after obtaining the 1-year post-basic specialty qualification.
Additional Job Requirements
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and a willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in computer programs, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Willingness to perform after-hours and weekend standby duties for the hospital.
- Willingness to provide relief support for the Deputy Manager of Nursing and other Operational Managers when needed.
