Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A three-year health-related National Diploma or Degree. You must be eligible for registration with either the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) or the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- License: A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
Experience Needed
- Practical experience working in a Case Management or Medical Aid environment.
- Strong experience with ICD-10 coding and the ability to accurately link patient diagnoses with specific procedural codes.
Key Skills and Competencies
We are looking for a candidate who is organized and detail-oriented, with the following skills:
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based medical aid programs.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Uniform Patient Fees Schedule (UPFS), Managed Health Care systems, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
- Legal Knowledge: An understanding of the Medical Schemes Act and Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) legislation, including Chronic Disease Lists (CDL) and Diagnostic Treatment Pairs (DTP).
