About the Position
The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is seeking a professional and reliable Driver for the Governance-Transport division. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential transportation services and handling sensitive documentation with the highest level of discretion.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- A valid Code B or EB driver’s license.
- Proven experience as a professional driver.
- Experience in handling confidential documents with a high degree of privacy.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Professionalism: Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Vehicle Care: Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance and the ability to identify defects to ensure safe driving.
- Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with the Transport Handbook and South African National Road Traffic Acts and Regulations.
- Conduct: Must maintain sober habits and a professional demeanor at all times.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely transporting staff and goods as required.
- Conducting regular safety inspections of vehicles.
- Managing the secure delivery and collection of official documents.
- Adhering to all provincial transport policies and road safety laws.
