Nursing Assistant (Grades 1 to 3): Female and Children Ward

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is seeking dedicated Nursing Assistants to join our team. This role is responsible for providing essential healthcare services to the community within the Western Cape province.

Educational Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have:

• A formal qualification that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
• Current and valid registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.

Experience Levels

We are hiring across three experience grades:

• Grade 1: No previous experience required.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate nursing experience after registering with the SANC.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of appropriate nursing experience after registering with the SANC.

• Excellent planning and interpersonal abilities.
• The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary medical team.
• A commitment to improving patient care by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinical guidelines.
• The ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure.

Job Expectations

• Willingness to work various shifts, including night duty, weekends, and public holidays.
• Flexibility to assist in different departments based on the hospital’s operational needs.
