Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will ensure our business operations align with legal standards and internal policies, specifically focusing on FICA and KYC regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- FICA & KYC Oversight: Perform and review Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) documents for all buying, sales, and finance transactions.
- Compliance Monitoring: Identify and investigate any discrepancies or non-compliance issues and report them to management.
- Internal Support: Act as a point of contact for internal teams, providing guidance on compliance documentation and best practices.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all compliance checks to ensure a clear audit trail.
- Audit Assistance: Help prepare for internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Legal Collaboration: Support the Head of Legal and Legal Manager with special projects and regulatory updates.
Requirements
- Education: Matric certificate or equivalent. A Certificate in Compliance is a plus.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a compliance or similar role.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of the FICA Act.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow strict procedures and manage risks.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
