Purpose of the Job

We are looking for a Driver Instructor to support our transport operations. In this role, you will conduct Code 14 driver assessments, handle onboarding, and provide ongoing training across our supply chain. You will work directly with drivers on the road and on the floor to coach them on safe, efficient, and compliant driving techniques. Your feedback will help us make informed recruitment decisions and maintain high fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on Code 14 training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct driver testing and assessments during the recruitment process to ensure only competent drivers join the fleet.
  • Deliver practical on-road and classroom training to improve driving behavior and road safety.
  • Support and coach drivers, including those in learnership programs, to maintain high standards.
  • Identify and address driving techniques that negatively impact fuel consumption.
  • Complete accurate driver assessments and reports to support hiring and ongoing development.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Code 14 license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
  • Essential experience as a Code 14 Driver Trainer.
  • An excellent, clean driving record.
  • An Assessor or Facilitator certificate is highly preferred.

  • Ability to work well in a team and perform under pressure.
