Fleet Officer
eThekwini Municipality is a major metropolitan hub in South Africa, centered in the city of Durban. We are currently seeking a professional Fleet Officer to join our logistics team.
Role Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the daily operations of our fleet. You will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and controlling the movement and allocation of heavy plant machinery, vehicles, and equipment across the municipality to ensure efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the allocation of municipal vehicles and heavy machinery.
- Coordinate the movement of equipment to various sites and projects.
- Maintain organized records of fleet activities and asset distribution.
- Ensure all transport and equipment operations meet organizational standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate (Matric/NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- Certification: A formal certificate in the Transport or Logistics field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in fleet or transport coordination.
- License: A valid motor vehicle driving license.
- Skills: Practical computer literacy and strong organizational abilities.
