The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is responsible for managing transport and road traffic legislation within the province. We are currently seeking a professional and organized individual to join our team as an Admin Clerk.
Job Overview
This role provides essential clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department. It is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with a matric certificate who are eager to start a career in public service administration.
Requirements
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric).
- While no previous experience is required, prior exposure to an office or administrative environment is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Clerical Support
- Record, organize, and store department data and correspondence.
- Capture and retrieve digital information accurately.
- Maintain and update department registers and statistics.
- Handle routine enquiries and manage incoming/outgoing documents.
- Provide general office support, including typing, photocopying, and faxing.
- Maintain an efficient filing system for the unit.
2. Supply Chain Administration
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding the procurement of goods and services.
- Gather price quotations for standard office items.
- Complete the necessary procurement forms for office supplies.
3. Personnel and Resource Support
- Maintain accurate personnel records within the component.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodation bookings for staff.
- Assist with payroll management and the distribution of pay slips.
- Oversee the distribution of office assets and equipment.
