Key Responsibilities

The Senior Advisor for Compliance will be responsible for providing direction and assurance regarding the organization’s compliance standards. Key duties include:

  • Managing integrated compliance processes across the organization.
  • Providing expert guidance and assurance to ensure all departments meet regulatory requirements.
  • Managing communication and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Professional Registration

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or B Tech in Law, Commerce, or Sciences (NQF 7 with 360 credits).
  • Professional membership with the Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA).

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in a compliance-related environment.

Skills and Competencies

Technical Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of generally accepted compliance practices and monitoring reviews.
  • Expertise in interpreting and analyzing statutes and legislative frameworks.
  • Knowledge of the King Code on Corporate Governance and integrated risk management.
  • Familiarity with auditing, internal controls, and corporate policy frameworks.

Behavioral and Leadership Skills

  • Integrity: Must be ethical, honest, and professional in all dealings.
  • Independence: Ability to work without prejudice and stand firm on principles.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to take accountability, drive strategy, and mentor junior staff.
