Purpose of the Role
The ICT Steering Committee provides strategic leadership and oversight for all ICT-related projects within TASEZ. The committee ensures that information technology is used as a powerful tool to improve service delivery and operational excellence. Members will offer expert guidance on resource allocation, emerging technologies, and ICT governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for ICT projects and initiatives.
- Oversee ICT governance to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Advise on the use of technology to meet organizational goals.
- Offer expert guidance on ICT risk management and security.
- Monitor resource allocation for technology investments.
Requirements
Education:
- A 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Post-Graduate degree will be a strong advantage.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in an ICT role at a Senior Management level.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience serving on an ICT Steering Committee or Governance Committee.
- Proven experience in ICT security, architecture, digital transformation, and risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and ethics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Professional judgment and an inquisitive mind.
- Knowledge of legislation regulating information and communication technology in both the public and private sectors.
