Labour Relations Practitioner
Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, located in the Eastern Cape, is looking for a dedicated and professional Labour Relations Practitioner to join our Human Resources team. This is a full-time position aimed at maintaining fair and productive workplace relations.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A three-year tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) in Human Resources Management or a closely related field.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in labour relations.
- Strong computer literacy.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Disciplinary Matters: Handle disciplinary cases to ensure they are consistent and fair, promoting a healthy working environment.
- Incapacity & Absence: Investigate cases of prolonged absence or incapacity to help improve municipal productivity.
- Grievance Resolution: Facilitate the quick and efficient resolution of employee grievances and settlements.
- Legal Representation: Manage conciliation and arbitration proceedings at the CCMA and the South African Local Government Bargaining Council.
- Training: Identify training needs and arrange workshops for staff involved in disciplinary hearings.
- Employee Support: Provide counseling for workplace issues, including poor performance, misconduct, and substance abuse.
- Conflict Management: Identify areas of workplace conflict and report on them to prevent future industrial relations problems.
- Policy Development: Assist in creating or updating labor policies to ensure they remain effective.
- Welfare Services: Refer employees to health practitioners or social welfare services when necessary to support their well-being.
