Role Summary
We are looking for a hardworking, hands-on General Worker to join our team at Rola Toyota Somerset West. In this role, you will support our Wheel Alignment Technician with daily workshop tasks, ensuring that operations run safely and efficiently. Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is essential.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Wheel Alignment or Workshop Assistant in an automotive environment.
- License: A valid driver’s license.
- Technical Skills: A good understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair principles, and the ability to follow manufacturer specifications.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attributes: A customer-first mindset, a collaborative team spirit, and a professional appearance.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Support
- Assist the Technician in preparing vehicles for alignment and maintenance.
- Safely move vehicles within the workshop area.
- Fit protective equipment like fender and wheel covers.
- Assist with loosening and tightening wheel nuts under professional supervision.
Tools and Maintenance
- Keep tools and alignment equipment clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Identify and report any faulty equipment to the supervisor immediately.
- Help set up tools and parts for daily jobs.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by sweeping, cleaning spills, and tidying work bays.
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling of old parts.
General Duties
- Fetch parts from the storeroom or parts department.
- Help unpack and organize new stock.
- Support the team with tyre fitment and suspension tasks as needed.
