Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated General Assistant to join our team. Your primary focus will be providing excellent customer service, ensuring the store is well-merchandised, and maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Assist and advise customers on the right products for their needs and help resolve any queries or complaints efficiently.
- Merchandising: Ensure all stock is packed safely according to the store layout. Keep shelves fully stocked and ensure price labels are accurate and visible.
- Housekeeping: Keep your assigned area clean and free of obstacles to ensure a safe shopping experience for everyone. Complete cleaning checklists for facilities as required.
- Safety (OHSA): Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of safety gear. Report any safety risks or discrepancies to the Store Manager immediately.
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels and report any damaged items to management to help minimize stock loss.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate. Applicants with a Grade 10 or NQF 3 qualification will be considered if they have at least one year of related work experience.
- Language: Ability to communicate effectively in English and the primary language spoken in the local area.
- Skills: Strong basic calculation and math skills.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Personal Attributes: Ability to work well under pressure and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Legal: Must have a valid South African ID or a valid work permit.
