We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in Moloto, Mpumalanga.

Job Overview

What You Will Need

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail management.
• A valid Driver’s license, your own transport, and a cell phone.
• Valid ID or a valid local work permit.
• Strong accounting and administrative skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong leadership and human resources skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety (OHSA) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager in the following areas:

Business Management

• Help develop and implement the store’s business plan to grow market share.
• Work to achieve sales budgets and growth goals.
• Monitor the store’s financial performance and operating income.
• Ensure the store follows all company standards and audit requirements.

Customer Service

• Maintain high standards of customer service.
• Manage reliable and prompt delivery services for customers.
• Promote customer loyalty programs and handle customer feedback effectively.

Asset and Stock Control

• Manage and control stock levels to prevent loss (shrinkage).
• Oversee stock takes and ensure accurate receiving of goods.
• Manage daily banking, petty cash, and financial transactions.
• Ensure store equipment, such as forklifts, generators, and IT systems, are well-maintained.

Staff and Safety

• Assist with hiring, training, and developing store employees.
• Manage employee relations and ensure open communication within the team.
• Enforce health and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Maintain high standards of store housekeeping and merchandising.
