Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A National Technical Certificate (NTC 3) in Motor Bodywork.
- A formal Trade Test Certificate as a Spray Painter or Panel Beater.
- At least three (3) years of experience as a qualified artisan.
- Experience in artisan training or assessment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Skills Development Act of 1998.
- The ability to conduct and moderate trade tests for Spray Painting and Panel Beating.
- An Assessor Certificate will be considered an added advantage.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the automotive artisan unit with the following responsibilities:
- Conducting trade tests for Spray Painters and Panel Beaters.
- Implementing and managing the Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) process.
- Performing internal and external moderation of trade tests to ensure quality standards.
- Maintaining and securing all assessment records and documentation.
- Supervising Trade Assistants and evaluating the performance of staff within the unit.
- Managing the procurement of necessary assessment equipment and materials.
