Role Summary
The Community Liaison Officer acts as the primary link between the municipality, the local community, and the construction contractors. The successful candidate will support LRC Civils and MAC Consulting Engineers with labor-related matters and ensure smooth communication between all parties involved in local projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional relationship between the contractor, the municipality, and the community.
- Serve as the main contact person for local resources and labor.
- Manage and refer to the database of local workers.
- Keep the contractor and municipality updated on community affairs and potential concerns.
- Assist supervisory staff in managing local workers on-site.
- Submit monthly reports regarding local employment, training progress, and equity status.
Requirements
- A valid Matric certificate.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Afrikaans.
- Must be a current resident of Kwanojoli with thorough knowledge of the area.
- Must be currently unemployed.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution and organizational development.
- A basic understanding of the construction industry.
- Reliable, accountable, and prepared to work under challenging conditions.
