We are one of Southern Africa’s leading pathology laboratories. We take pride in providing innovative, professional, and high-quality laboratory services to healthcare practitioners and patients. We are currently looking for a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our Cytology team.
Role Overview
In this role, you will perform essential tasks that keep our laboratory running smoothly. Your work will directly impact patient care by ensuring specimens are handled correctly and the laboratory remains a safe, efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process gynecological (gynae) specimens.
- Prepare cytology samples for analysis.
- Perform general laboratory tasks and administrative duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Support professional relationships with clients through excellent service.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Professional Registration: Must be registered with the HPCSA as a Lab Assistant in Cytology.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Availability: Must be able to work specific shifts, which may include Saturdays and Sundays.
Required Skills
- Communication: Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Mathematics: Ability to perform basic numerical calculations accurately.
- Professionalism: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to a productive work environment.
