We are currently looking for a dedicated Assistant Supervisor to join our team and oversee the production and growth of plants at our nursery facilities.

The Role

As an Assistant Supervisor, your primary goal is to ensure that plants are grown and maintained according to company protocols. You will supervise daily operations, manage nursery staff, and ensure that all plants meet quality standards before they are dispatched.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise nursery staff across all daily activities.
• Maintain hedges and rooting facilities efficiently following established protocols.
• Oversee growing facilities and supervise all “Grow Out” tasks.
• Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing the use of PPE and monitoring for unsafe behavior.
• Manage the dispatch system, ensuring the correct quantity and quality of plants are processed.
• Monitor plant health daily and implement disease control remedies on time.
• Manage chemical spraying programs and maintain accurate records of chemical use.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or an NQF 4 equivalent qualification.
• NQF Level 3 certificate in Supervision or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in a nursery, forestry, or research environment.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.
