Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or B Tech.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Current registration as a Professional Planner with SACPLAN.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Professional Officer, your duties will include:
- Managing land use applications for informal settlement upgrades and emergency housing projects.
- Creating detailed layout designs and coordinating initiatives for urban upgrading.
- Assisting Project Managers with project briefs, scope of work, and managing professional teams.
- Ensuring all projects follow City policies and regulations for successful delivery.
- Working with stakeholders to identify and develop strategic planning projects.
- Supporting the City’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and delivery goals.
- Supervising junior staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
