Handyman (4 Positions – Permanent)
Breede Valley Municipality is looking for four reliable Handymen to join our team in the Western Cape. This is a permanent role focused on the maintenance, repair, and renovation of municipal buildings and facilities.
Job Purpose
The successful candidates will perform essential building repairs, including carpentry and plumbing work. You will also be responsible for completing basic administrative reports related to your daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and renovate interior and exterior building surfaces and surroundings.
- Complete daily administrative forms, such as timesheets and job cards.
- Drive municipal vehicles to and from work sites.
- Clean and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Strictly follow health and safety (OHS Act) regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification.
- NQF Level 3 certification of competency in masonry, painting, or the operation of small plant and equipment.
- A valid Code B driver’s license.
- 3 to 6 months of relevant work experience.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry weights up to 25kg.
- Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages used in the Western Cape.
