About the Role

The Western Cape Department of Agriculture (WCDoA) is looking for a qualified and competent professional to join our Facilities Maintenance team. Based in Elsenburg, this role focuses on the technical design, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure the department’s infrastructure remains safe and functional.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Matric certificate.
  • An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
  • A valid Code B (or higher) driving license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Design and Installation: Designing and installing new electrical systems as required.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Carrying out regular electrical maintenance and repairing department infrastructure.
  • General Support: Providing general maintenance and repair services to support the sub-directorate’s operations.
  • Administration: Managing procurement, expenditure control, and supervisory tasks related to electrical work.

Skills and Competencies

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of technical analysis, legal compliance, and the legislative frameworks governing the public service. Required skills include:

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing.
