Breede Valley Municipality is looking for a qualified professional to join our team in a permanent role. This leadership position is based in the Western Cape and focuses on managing traffic, law enforcement, and security services for the municipality.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will lead the traffic, law enforcement, and security divisions. You will be responsible for developing strategies, policies, and operational programs to ensure the municipality complies with all relevant laws and safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and manage short-term and long-term goals for Traffic Services.
- Oversee daily traffic operations and road safety initiatives.
- Develop and implement systems to regulate work procedures and quality control.
- Manage the division’s capital and operating budgets, ensuring responsible spending.
- Handle contracts and tenders related to traffic and security services.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure all work meets agreed standards.
- Supervise staff performance and productivity.
- Oversee the management of assets and the municipal fleet.
- Lead public safety awareness programs.
- Ensure all record-keeping meets statutory and audit requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate.
- A Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Policing or a related field.
- Basic Training Qualification.
- A valid Code B Driver’s License.
- A clean criminal record.
- Proven proficiency with firearms.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including a strong background in supervision or management.
- Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
- Compliance with National Treasury Minimum Competency levels (or the ability to complete these within 18 months of appointment).
