About the Role

CBRE Excellerate is looking for a reliable Handyman Assistant to join our team in Welkom. In this role, you will support our Handyman in providing high-quality maintenance and repair services at various client sites. This is a great opportunity for someone who is handy, eager to learn, and comfortable using technology to manage work tasks.

A key part of this position involves using smartphone applications to track your daily tasks, complete digital job cards, and report progress to the Operations Manager. You should be flexible, ready to assist with site call-outs, and committed to following all safety regulations.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist the Handyman with general building repairs, including carpentry, painting, tiling, and plumbing.
• Help maintain ceilings, drywalls, masonry, and office furniture.
• Prepare the necessary tools, materials, and equipment before heading to site locations.
• Participate in site inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Complete daily administrative tasks using a smartphone, such as updating job cards and delivery notes.
• Respond to site call-outs and assist with both planned maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Provide regular updates and feedback to the Handyman and the Operations Manager.
• Ensure all work is done safely and follows official operational procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a similar support role.
• Basic knowledge of repair tasks like painting, plumbing, and carpentry.
• A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel between different sites.
• Strong ability to use a smartphone and mobile apps for reporting and tracking work.
• Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
• A strong focus on safety, detail, and reliability.
• Willingness to perform standby duties when required.
