We provide research, veterinary care, and training services to commercial and smallholder farmers, focusing on sustainable resource management and food security.
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified professional to provide expert extension and advisory services to farmers in the Garden Route district. In this role, you will facilitate agricultural projects, manage capacity-building initiatives for farmers, and supervise regional administration to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability.

Requirements
- A 4-year BSc in Agriculture or a BAgric Honours degree, specializing in Livestock (NQF level 8) or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience in agricultural extension services.
- Professional registration with SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) or another recognized body.
- A valid Code B driving license.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized advice on livestock production and management to all farmers.
- Support land reform and infrastructure development projects.
- Manage and evaluate agricultural development projects within the regional framework.
- Lead research trials and demonstration projects to improve farming methods.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and planning meetings for farmers.
- Conduct farm assessments, develop farm plans, and draft technical progress reports.
- Promote sustainable production systems and help farmers develop organizational skills.
- Contribute technical input to business plans and project monitoring.
- Oversee general office administration and manage the Agricultural Information Management System (AIMS).
- Lead and mentor junior extension and administrative staff.
