Hospitality Assistant
Hollywoodbets has been a leader in the South African betting industry since 1999. As we continue to expand our reach across Southern Africa, we are looking for a dedicated and energetic Hospitality Assistant to join our team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a full-time position focused on delivering exceptional service at sporting events and within our hospitality suites.
Role Overview
As a Hospitality Assistant, you will support the Hospitality Coordinators in planning and executing high-quality events. Your role involves everything from bar service and stock management to budget control and event coordination. This position requires a professional individual who can maintain high energy levels and handle the fast-paced nature of the hospitality and events industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Coordination: Assist in the setup and smooth running of hospitality suites at various sporting events. Prepare event calendars and ensure all logistics are handled in advance.
- Service & Operations: Provide bar service to clients, manage food and beverage requirements, and oversee the team working at specific events.
- Stock & Financial Control: Manage stock ordering and perform regular stocktakes. Obtain quotes, set up event budgets, and record all expenses accurately.
- Compliance & Safety: Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure all health and safety standards are strictly followed.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide weekly reports on event performance and conduct market research to understand target audiences.
Requirements
- Education: Matric certificate is essential.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven experience in bar service, food and beverage, or the event industry (specifically stadium suites).
- License: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and experience in planning and reporting.
- Flexibility: Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel nationally as required.
