Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the debt recovery division and ensure effective financial management. Duties include:
- Ensuring all debt collection activities comply with relevant laws and procedures.
- Providing leadership and guidance to the debt collection team.
- Managing legal processes related to outstanding debts.
- Developing and implementing strategies and policies for effective debt management.
- Identifying and using modern credit control methods and technology.
- Monitoring the division’s performance against approved targets.
- Advising senior management on debt collection issues and administration.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with attorneys, sheriffs, and court officials.
- Liaising with provincial and national treasury departments and other stakeholders.
- Protecting the Council from unnecessary legal costs.
- Drafting necessary legal documents and researching best practices in debt recovery.
