Casual Frontshop Assistant – Marine Walk
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is South Africa’s leading pharmaceutical retailer. We are looking for a motivated Casual Frontshop Assistant to join our team at the Marine Walk branch.
Job Overview
The role of the Frontshop Assistant is to ensure our store looks professional and is well-stocked, while providing excellent service to our customers at the point of sale. You will play a vital role in maintaining our merchandising standards and helping the store run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising: Ensure shelves are always full, neatly organized, and correctly labeled.
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide helpful advice.
- Point of Sale: Handle cash, card, and voucher payments accurately. Process loyalty cards and handle returns with management approval.
- Stock Control: Help with restocking, check for expired items, and participate in stocktakes.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the storeroom tidy and ensure the shop floor meets Dis-Chem’s high standards of cleanliness.
- Loss Prevention: Handle all products with care to prevent damage and report any suspicious behavior.
Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent Senior Certificate.
- Up to 6 months of retail experience.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervision.
Advantageous:
- 1 year of retail experience.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, or SAP).
- A qualification in Retail Business Management.
Special Conditions
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have a clear credit and criminal record.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays).
