Senior Technician: Metering, Protection, and Planning

Location: Piketberg, Western Cape

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technician specializing in Metering, Protection, and Planning. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure.

Educational Qualifications

  • A Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).

Professional Experience

  • Between five (5) and eight (8) years of relevant experience after obtaining your qualification.

Key Requirements and Skills

  • Licensing: A valid Code B driving license.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with High Voltage (HV) systems and protection.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
  • Languages: Proficiency in at least two of the official languages used in the Western Cape.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, excellent communication, and the ability to manage conflict.
  • Problem Solving: Advanced critical thinking, mathematical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in complex situations.
  • Operational Awareness: Knowledge of public safety, security protocols, and financial management.
