About the Role
Dikgatlong Municipality is seeking two dedicated individuals to join our team as Traffic Wardens. These positions are vital for ensuring road safety and maintaining order within our local community. Dikgatlong is located in the Frances Baard District and is named after the confluence of the Harts and Vaal rivers.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- A Further Education and Training Certificate in Road Traffic Law Enforcement, Peace Officer, or Traffic Warden programs.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must be a resident of the Dikgatlong Municipal area.
- A valid Code B Driver’s License.
- A clear criminal record with a valid SAPS Clearance Certificate.
- Must be medically and physically fit for active duty.
- Basic clerical and administrative skills.
Key Responsibilities
As a Traffic Warden, your primary duties will include:
- Enforcing traffic laws and regulations as instructed.
- Monitoring traffic movement, road signs, and markings to ensure safety.
- Identifying and managing parking offences.
- Conducting regular patrols on foot or in a vehicle within the central business district.
- Preventing road incidents by enforcing local by-laws and the National Road Traffic Act.
- Responding to and reporting emergency situations.
- Keeping accurate records in a pocket book and submitting official reports to supervisors.
