Project Management Technician (1 Post)

Dikgatlong Municipality is located in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Project Management Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position focused on managing and supporting municipal infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Grade 12 certificate.
  • A National Diploma or B Degree in Project Management or Civil Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in project management.
  • A valid Code 08 (B or EB) driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong professional report-writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager of Technical Services and will be responsible for:

  • Project Management: Managing the Project Management Unit (PMU) and overseeing all civil engineering projects from start to finish.
  • Technical Support: Evaluating projects to ensure they align with the Municipal Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and provincial growth strategies.
  • Contract Management: Developing terms of reference for service providers and managing all consultants and contractors.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all projects follow legal requirements, government conditions, and the EPWP framework for labour-intensive work.
  • Financial Oversight: Managing project cash flows, verifying payment certificates, and preparing monthly expenditure schedules.
  • Site Monitoring: Conducting regular site visits and progress meetings to ensure work meets quality standards and deadlines.
  • Reporting: Maintaining project data on national databases and providing regular performance updates.
