Role Overview
The main purpose of this role is to respond to emergency calls and provide essential medical care. You will work within your professional scope of practice to ensure patients receive the best possible support during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness to respond to emergency calls quickly.
- Provide patient care according to your professional scope of practice.
- Act as a professional representative of ER24 and maintain a positive public image.
Requirements
Education:
- A valid Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA) Certificate is essential.
- Completion of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) training through the HPCSA is highly preferred. (Candidates without this must complete it during their probation period).
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience working on a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance.
- 2 years of road experience is preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with local travel routes and the Hermanus area.
- Strong understanding of HPCSA guidelines and best practices in EMS.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Accurate completion of Patient Report Forms.
