Position: General Assistant (External Applicants Only)
Location: Soshanguve Industrial, Pretoria, Gauteng
Job Type: Full-Time
Role Description
We are looking for a dedicated General Assistant to ensure our customers receive excellent service. Your main goals will be to assist shoppers, keep the store well-stocked and clean, and maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers with product inquiries.
- Provide helpful advice on the correct products for their needs.
- Help resolve customer complaints professionally.
Merchandising and Store Upkeep
- Pack and display stock safely according to the store layout.
- Ensure all items are correctly priced and labeled.
- Keep aisles clear of obstacles and maintain a clean shopping area.
- Complete cleaning schedules for staff facilities as required.
Safety and Stock Control
- Follow all health and safety (OHSA) rules, including using protective gear.
- Report any safety risks or damaged stock to the Store Manager.
- Ensure stock is stored securely to prevent injury or loss.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) OR Grade 10/NQF 3 with at least one year of work experience.
- Communication: Ability to speak and write in English and the local language of the area.
- Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
- Legal: Must have a valid South African ID or a valid work permit.
- Availability: Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Resilience: Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
