Senior Manager: Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD)

We are looking for a strategic leader to join our team as a Senior Manager for Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD).
Role Purpose
In this role, you will manage and implement Transnet’s supplier development strategy. Your focus will be on localization, transformation, and economic growth. You will ensure that our procurement processes support Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) and foster the growth of small to medium enterprises. You will also oversee the tracking and reporting of all supplier development initiatives to ensure we meet our national economic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Implementation: Drive Transnet’s supplier development policies within the division. Identify opportunities to support local suppliers and maximize benefits for both the company and the community.
- Procurement Management: Support sourcing teams by setting evaluation criteria for tenders and managing supplier negotiations to reach development targets.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Manage the collection and analysis of data regarding BBBEE spend and supplier performance. Provide regular reports to leadership on progress and achievements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the divisional representative in industry forums and government networks. Build strong relationships with established and emerging suppliers to promote economic development.
- Compliance & Training: Ensure all procurement activities follow BEE legislation. Provide training and support to staff on procurement regulations and supplier development.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop your immediate team, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Supply Chain Management is required. A post-graduate business degree is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of management experience within a supply chain function.
