Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified Assistant Director of Administration to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee administrative functions, manage claims processes, and support departmental governance. This role is ideal for a professional with strong leadership skills and experience in public administration.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate and an NQF Level 6 qualification in Office Administration, Office Management, Business Management, or Public Administration.
  • Experience: At least three years of experience in a supervisory role (at salary level 7 or an equivalent level).
  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • Experience in financial management and fund administration.
  • Familiarity with claims processes and benefit administration.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability in planning, organizing, and stakeholder management.
  • The ability to work independently and under pressure within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise administrative staff and operations.
  • Oversee the administration of benefits and claims processes.
  • Support governance committees and maintain effective stakeholder relations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Service Regulatory Framework and the South African Constitution.
  • Coordinate outreach services to claimants and manage departmental budgeting principles.
