The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is responsible for providing professional communication services for the government. The organization sets standards for effective communication, ensures government messaging is consistent, and keeps the public informed about government policies, plans, and achievements.

Role Overview

The GCIS is looking for an independent external professional to join the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. This role is designed for an expert who can provide high-level oversight and guidance regarding ICT governance, risk management, and audit processes.

Key Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Digital Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a management role.
  • Committee Experience: Previous experience serving on a Risk Management or Audit Committee is required.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of ICT governance, ICT risk management, and audit procedures.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, ISO3100, the King IV Report on Corporate Governance, COSO, and the Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
  • Industry Background: Experience working within a communications environment is considered a strong advantage.
