Tiger Brands Limited is a leading manufacturer and marketer of FMCG products in Southern Africa. We are a Top 40 JSE company with a strong presence across the African continent. We are currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Operator to join our Beverages Packaging team as a Reliever.
Role Overview
The Assistant Operator (Reliever) provides essential support to the packaging department. In this role, you will step in to cover for absent staff members, ensuring that production continues without interruption. You will be responsible for maintaining high quality and safety standards throughout your shift.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor beverage packaging machinery, including bottling, labeling, sealing, and palletizing equipment.
- Ensure the production line is consistently supplied with packaging materials such as bottles, cans, labels, and cartons.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in strict compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Conduct routine quality checks to ensure all finished products meet company specifications.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory control of packaging materials as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to reach daily production targets.
Qualifications and Skills
- A High School Diploma or equivalent National Certificate.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred but not required.
- The ability to operate basic machinery and follow technical instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude.
- Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and moderate lifting.
Working Conditions
This role is based in a fast-paced production environment. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods and working in areas with noise and moving machinery. Success in this position is measured by your ability to adapt quickly to different roles and contribute to our daily production goals.
