About the Role
The Free State Department of Health is committed to providing quality, accessible, and compassionate health services to our community. We are looking for experienced Operational Managers to lead our Primary Health Care (PHC) teams. Our goal is to empower our staff and provide excellent care through a community-based approach.
Requirements
- A Diploma or Degree in Nursing (or an equivalent qualification) that allows you to register as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic qualification in Clinical Health Science Specialty (at least 1 year in duration), accredited by SANC.
- A minimum of 9 years of nursing experience after registering with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- At least 5 years of the above experience must be in the Specialty area, gained after obtaining your 1-year post-basic qualification.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Proof of work experience endorsed by Human Resources (HR) must be attached to your application.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer use and data management.
- Knowledge of financial management and data quality assessments.
- Ability to work as a team member, manage time effectively, and perform under pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work extra hours when necessary to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, monitor, and analyze data to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
- Lead and manage staff within the Primary Health Care setting.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and maintain high standards of patient care.
