About the Position
The Mpumalanga Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Administration Clerk to join the Patient Administration team at Rob Ferreira Hospital. We are looking for a professional individual committed to providing equitable, people-centered healthcare services in line with the Batho Pele Principles.
Minimum Requirements
- A Grade 12 Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- A clear understanding of customer care and the Batho Pele Principles.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential administrative support. Primary duties include:
Patient Records and Data Management
- Capturing patient records accurately on the PIES/PEIS system.
- Opening new patient files and updating existing accounts.
- Managing the filing system to ensure records are organized and accessible.
- Determining patient fee classifications according to UPFS guidelines by verifying necessary information.
General Office Administration
- Handling general inquiries related to patient information.
- Performing clerical tasks such as typing documents, photocopying, and registering incoming and outgoing mail.
- Assisting with the collection of daily statistics.
- Managing telephone accounts and petty cash for the department.
- Distributing documents and packages to relevant stakeholders as needed.
