The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is responsible for providing public healthcare services to the residents of the Western Cape province. We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Deputy Director for Finance and Supply Chain Management.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant three-year Degree or Diploma.
- Significant experience in Supply Chain Management and Financial Management.
- Proven experience in preparing and reporting financial statements.
- Strong leadership and management experience, focusing on both strategic and operational goals.
- Experience in Contract Management.
- A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and the willingness to travel long distances.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and Finance Instructions.
- A strong understanding of accounting practices, including cost and management accounting.
- Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to analyze financial and statistical data effectively.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team to meet strict deadlines.
- Innovative problem-solving skills to help improve organizational performance.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and drive improvements within the Finance and Supply Chain Management departments. This includes overseeing financial reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing contracts to support the department’s healthcare mission.
