Internship: Human Resources
The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) is seeking a motivated individual to join our Human Resources Unit as an intern. Established in 2010, the QCTO is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and certification of occupational qualifications and trades in South Africa.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment tasks, including coordinating shortlists, scheduling interviews, and preparing documents.
- Support the onboarding and induction process for new employees.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR files according to company policy.
- Help administer training programs and maintain skills development records.
- Support employee relations activities and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Handle HR data entry, update systems, and assist in compiling HR reports.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the HR unit.
Job Requirements
- A recognized National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or Labour Law.
- Must be an unemployed South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35.
- No previous working experience is required.
- Must not have participated in a previous internship program.
Required Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and under supervision.
- A professional approach with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

- Location: Pretoria, Gauteng.
- Job Type: Full-Time Internship.
- Preference: Priority will be given to applicants residing in the Gauteng Province.
