Job Purpose
The Senior Advisor for Financial Accounting and Control is responsible for overseeing financial accuracy, ensuring tax compliance, and maintaining robust internal controls within the organization. This role involves managing the general ledger, preparing detailed financial reports, and mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger (GL) accounts and ensure full tax compliance.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls.
- Prepare and compile financial accounting statements and management reporting packs.
- Handle tax, related party, and inter-company schedules.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Oversee financial system access, workflows, and delegation of information.
- Direct the month-end closing and periodic financial processes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree, B Tech, National Higher Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (NQF Level 7 with 360 credits).
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, Taxation, Internal Control, and Financial Management.
