Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A recognized National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or a Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• A valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating safety initiatives and youth development programs. Primary duties include:

• Managing youth clubs, anti-truancy initiatives, and “Back to School” programs.
• Organizing and conducting training sessions on conflict management, crime prevention, and safety planning.
• Implementing safety and security protocols in line with the National Schools Safety Framework.
• Facilitating Youth Development Programs, including after-school and holiday activities.
• Monitoring and reporting on program implementation and budgets to School Management and Governance Support.

Required Knowledge

Candidates should have a strong understanding of the following:

• The Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
• The National Environmental Management Act.
• Financial processes, including Supply Chain Management (SCM) and budgeting.
• Education policies, legislation, and project planning frameworks.

Essential Skills

• Professional report writing, planning, and organizational skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong negotiation, conflict management, and mediation skills.
• Clear communication skills (proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape).
• Confident presentation and facilitation abilities.
