Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A recognized National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or a Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating safety initiatives and youth development programs. Primary duties include:
- Managing youth clubs, anti-truancy initiatives, and “Back to School” programs.
- Organizing and conducting training sessions on conflict management, crime prevention, and safety planning.
- Implementing safety and security protocols in line with the National Schools Safety Framework.
- Facilitating Youth Development Programs, including after-school and holiday activities.
- Monitoring and reporting on program implementation and budgets to School Management and Governance Support.
Required Knowledge
Candidates should have a strong understanding of the following:
- The Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
- The National Environmental Management Act.
- Financial processes, including Supply Chain Management (SCM) and budgeting.
- Education policies, legislation, and project planning frameworks.
Essential Skills
- Professional report writing, planning, and organizational skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong negotiation, conflict management, and mediation skills.
- Clear communication skills (proficiency in at least two official languages of the Western Cape).
- Confident presentation and facilitation abilities.
