About the Western Cape Education Department

The WCED is dedicated to managing early childhood development as well as primary and secondary school education within the province. Our main goals are to strengthen the language and mathematics skills of our learners, improve matriculation results, and ensure that children in underprivileged communities have access to high-quality education.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Care and Support Officer to join the HIV/AIDS and TB Life Skills Education Programme. This role focuses on providing essential support and administration to improve health awareness and life skills within our educational framework.

Minimum Requirements

  • A National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in Education, Health, or Social Sciences.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in administration.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A clear understanding of National HIV/AIDS and TB policies.
  • Knowledge of Life Skills and Life Orientation curriculum.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Financial Administration: Basic knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
  • Communication: Strong report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Planning: Excellent organizational and facilitation abilities.
  • Languages: Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Information Management: Basic knowledge of data and information handling.
